On the afternoon of June 27, 2020, Smile Charity Foundation and the U-hearts Foundation cooperated to launch the second-hand computer donation activity of "Children's Dream, Everyone's Brain for Use" at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Talent Development Centre, Beech Street, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, to deliver the positive energy of love.
For the prevention and control of the pandemic, in order to better protect the safety of children, the Hong Kong government implemented online teaching, so that even though face to face teaching has been suspended, learning is not suspended. In Hong Kong, there are still many children from grassroots families who do not have a computer at home. According to the situation of the outbreak, there is still some time before the school opens. Therefore, Smile Charity Foundation has donated HKD100,000 to support the campaign to buy second-hand computers. Together with the U-hearts Foundation, they plan to give away 100 computers to ensure that students at the grass-roots level will not stop learning during the pandemic period, so as to deliver care to those students who have been "left out" in the "trend of online classes".
Volunteers from Smile Charity Foundation participated in the donation activity. They helped distribute computers at the scene, taught students the basic use of computers, maintained the order of the site, and ensured the smooth and orderly progress of the activity.
After getting the computer, the parents and children were very happy because they no longer need to worry about accessing online classes. They said they would stay true to their original aspiration and work hard.
The wisdom of the youth is the wisdom of the country; the strength of the youth is the strength of the country. Smile Charity Foundation will continue to pay attention to the growth of children and teenagers, actively fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, and send help to children in need. We wish the children to study hard and grow up healthily.
U-hearts foundation is a partner of Smile Charity Foundation partners, and it focuses on youth development, student sponsorships in rural areas and school constructions, for many years, and have funded as many as 3000 high school students benefit and tens of thousands of children. The founding ideas of U-hearts are in conformity with that of Smile Charity Foundation's which eventually lead to this cooperation.
